Öne Çıkanlar
- The RCCB operates on the principle of current balance. The supply conductors, namely the phases and the neutral, are passed through a toroid to form the primary windings of a current transformer. Its secondary winding is connected to a highly sensitive electromagnetic trip relay, which activates the trip mechanism.
- In a normal circuit, the sum of currents in the phases equals the current in the neutral, and the vector sum of all currents equals zero. If there's an insulation fault causing leakage current to flow to earth, the currents become unbalanced, and their vector sum is no longer zero. This imbalance is detected by the core balanced current transformer, causing the RCCB to trip and interrupt the supply to the load. The trip mechanism activates at a residual current between 50 - 100% of its rated tripping current.
- An RCBO combines the protections of the MCB and the RCCB.
